Why spend your vacation in Istria?

Stepping into a place filled with the scents of Mediterranean herbs, beautiful nature, culture, tradition and the crystal clear Adriatic Sea, there is really no one who would not surrender to these charms. Istria is truly special in every factor mentioned.

The offer offered by Istria is very diverse. From accommodation facilities, gastronomic dishes, good wineries, theme parks and museums to protected areas, various activities, beautiful viewpoints, ecological producers and beautiful beaches where you could swim all day long.

It is difficult to present all the factors, but we will try to bring you as close as possible!

The Istrian peninsula is the so-called green oasis of Croatia. As beautiful as the coastal part of Istria is, central Istria is just as captivating with nature and its hidden gems. If you love small towns full of colorful streets, you are in the right place. Each town has its own character and characteristics, just like the people! It is not difficult to visit even 2-3 cities in one day because everything is well connected by old roads and highways.

MOTOVUN

Motovun is one of the hilly places that likes to leave all visitors speechless. Imagine when you are enthralled by the view of the city as you approach it, and only when you climb to the top of the hill on which it is located and reward you with a view of the entire landscape. The population of the city is not large, with a population of only about 1,000 people, and it is on the UNESCO World Heritage list because of its 26 protected cultural monuments. It sounds incredible! Motovun is not only famous for its landscape, but also for its large vineyards and truffle sites, which contributes great gastronomic value to the whole of Istria!

ROVINJ

I think that Rovinj is one of the favorite places for all visitors to Istria! So romantic and full of vivacity. Photographers love it! Rovinj has beautiful beaches with restaurants and cafes, offers various boat trips around the Red Island (or the island of St. Andrew) and the island of St. Catherine. The city of Rovinj has been recording a record 3 million overnight stays during the rezoning for several years now!

The smallest city in the world – HUM

With two streets and three rows of houses, this adorable little town has only 28 inhabitants and you can walk around it in just a few minutes. It was mentioned for the first time in 1102. Every year there is a rakija competition (brandy; Croatian traditional alcoholic drink) where producers from all over Istria compete for the best brandy.

Cape KAMENJAK

Welcome to the extreme south of the Istrian peninsula! In this beautiful corner of Istria, you can discover a whole series of different plant and animal habitats. Rt Kamenjak is a favorite hilly bathing place interspersed with small paths that lead you to the most beautiful coves. Safari Bar is also one of the favorite tourist destinations where you can drink a glass of good sangria with a beautiful sunset and a view of the islet of Porer.

BRIJUNI NATIONAL PARK

A national park with 14 islets that has been protected since 1983. If you want to take a day trip to Brijuni Island, the catamaran departs from Fažana. A very interesting island with a great history is an unmissable destination visited by people from all over the world. There is no car traffic here, but you can rent bicycles or golf carts with which you can tour Mali and Veliki Brijun. A very beautiful path that stretches up to 24 km is perfect for cycling tours through the national park.

This archipelago is rich in dinosaur footprints and over 200 of them have been found that lived there approximately 160 million years ago. In addition, at the national park you can visit a beautifully arranged Safari where there are zebras, bulls, llamas, ostriches and even the elephant Lanka, which arrived in Brijuna as a gift from Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1972.

THE BIGGEST CITY OF ISTRIA – PULA

This is one of the most impressive cities in Istria, full of historical attractions. The amphitheater or Pula Arena is one of them! The most significant in Croatia.

Located under seven hills next to the Adriatic Sea, Pula is known for its Mediterranean climate and tradition of winemaking, shipbuilding and fishing. It is full of surprises and events and excellent cuisine. Pula also offers numerous activities for both relaxing and active vacations.

Kayaking is definitely an activity that will allow you to see the coast from a completely different perspective and discover various coves and caves that you cannot reach from the land side. Don’t forget the night kayak tours through Kamenjak. Offers for electric bicycles and scooters are at every turn.

Wine City –  these are truly days you shouldn’t miss! On a large meadow in the middle of the old town, you can enjoy wine days. Cute little houses located and decorated with lights will immediately catch your eye as well as ours. In the evening hours (keep in mind that the number of visitors is very large), take a table with your company and enjoy drinking wine from the chosen producer under the stars by the sea with relaxing music and a good atmosphere.
